Why I Love Working For John Houston Custom Homes

For a lot of us, work is a necessary part of life. A means to an end. But there are a few out there that love their job and I count myself among them. Steve Jobs once said, "Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do."

I work for   John Houston Custom Homes. What I do specifically isn't quite as important as my part in our overall purpose as a company. A part each and every one of the John Houston Custom Home family members believes is beyond ourselves. It is, no doubt, a higher calling. Home building may not be something that inspires one to strive for more than building great homes but that is not true for us.

Perhaps, cliche or not, a great way to understand exactly what I mean is to visualize a home and it's necessary pieces and purposes.

We have a strong foundation rooted in faith. We are fortunate to have an owner who strives to do life with us and meet us where we are. He cares deeply for his employees, his partners and his customers and it shows.

We are made up of many different parts just as a house is. Each of us serves a different purpose. We are made up of different strengths and weaknesses but we would not be a strong house without any one of those pieces. I think I can speak for all of us when I say, we feel our value and what we mean to the over all structure.

The last piece of the house is the roof. As I said before, we are a company rooted in faith and our faith comes from God. I think it's easy to see how that can be represented in the top of our  house.

Now that our metaphorical house is complete, we want to share that house with others. Invite them in. Do life with them. Build relationships with them. The landscape around our house are the beautiful communities we live in and serve. It's our mission to not allow our work to stop at the completion of your home. We want to be a part of the communities that house our homes.

Relationship is more than an end goal. It's a journey in and of itself that we see great value in. If I sound passionate about my job and our company, it's because I am. It's a joy to be apart of something bigger than myself and I'm thankful to be apart of the John Houston Custom Homes family.

Grandview ISD: An A-Rated School District One of the primary concerns for any parent is ensuring their child receives an excellent education.
